Overton Alumni, Mookie Betts, earns 4th world series title
Mookie Betts is the only active player with four World Series titles , and just the 18th in the Divisional Era, which began in 1969. While he scuffled with the bat during this Fall Classic, the constant was his defense at shortstop, where he was a Gold Glove finalist  in his first full season at the position.

Blue Ribbon Teacher
Congratulations to our 2024-25 Blue Ribbon Teacher, Mr. Robinson! Alex Robinson was recognized as an MNPS Blue Ribbon Teacher for Excellence in Leadership. He led a district team of social studies teachers and instructional coaches in developing scaffolded supports for English Learners aligned to all 95 Tennessee U.S. History standards, now available to teachers across the district. We are so proud of you Mr. Robinson!
