Coach Derek Watkins has been named head coach for OUR baseball team!

Coach Derek Watkins is a proud graduate of John Overton High School, where he began his baseball journey before playing at Kansas City Community College and Park University (MO) where he was a stand out starting pitcher. He went on to coach at the collegiate level, including roles as pitching coach at Missouri Western State University and assistant coach and pitching coordinator at Kansas City Community College. His expertise includes individualized pitching plans, game day strategy and strength and conditioning for pitchers.

In addition to his college coaching experience, Watkins has worked with elite development programs such as the Royals Scout team (Team Kansas City 15U) and served as leading pitching coordinator for Old School Ducks Baseball. Prior to his collegiate roles, he was head coach at Westbury Christian, where he coached multiple college signees and MLB draft picks.

Coach Watkins brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for developing talent back to his alma mater.
